This species is such a mystery. Seven is half the size of Octane and OhToo (males) but about the same as Maya and Serendipity (females) but I don't think sex is an answer (particularly since the females are quite often larger than the males in octopuses). It does seem that the small ones live a shorter time than the larger ones but we have too little experience with them to even draw anecdotal conclusions.
