A nice ceph piece from 1930 by Mabel Rollins Harris. Wonder if she ever read Howard...
Wow, that's a really cool painting. Imagine having an octopus "pond" like that. Why was everyone portrayed as naked back then?
Are you complaining?
Heh, naw, just wondering. Although, I could do without the naked guy statues everywhere...
wow! She's better than Maxfield Parish for that style, and with Octos to boot!
The mountainscape in the background is amazing, too! Thanks!
http://www.mutoworld.com/Harris.htm shows the pic without the octopus, so this appears to be a case of photoshopping... it's cool anyway, though...
Hey! Equal rights are a good thing!
I was thinking that the octo parts looked out of place for more than one reason.
Don't you know? They're the Mountains of Madness!!
Well it's a pretty good photoshop, what with the reflection and all.
I didn't know it is a photoshop. Picked it up in art deco lj community http://community.livejournal.com/art_deco/31460.html with tentacles already.
Anyway, the tentacled edition belongs to this site's front page design, imvho... :)
My my my... I could make a VERY inappropriate hentai joke right now...
