Perhaps we could try and extract some DNA from the Ambernite, and attempt to splice it into the eggs of some of Steve's squids, in traditional Jurassic Park style. We could create monstrous ammonite/squid hybrids, to be unveiled at TONMOcon2 and confuse local divers.

FJ is a dab hand at genetics, I'm sure he'll have a crack at it.

(I must get out more).

((Interesting signature you have there Chrono. Spam? Me? This sort of thread is very worthy you know, and a waste of no-ones time. Honestly. ))

Or, perhaps :ammonite: / :cuttle: + :nautilus: = :nautiloi:? We must look into this!!!

 Oh I like that a lot. The implication here is that we could actually reverse cephalopod evolutionary history and recreate orthoconic Nautiloids by crossing the amber ammonite and Steve's Sepioteuthis.

Welcome to Ordovician Park. (Pond?)

woah! Neat. But we should actually see into the reverse revolutionary process...It really would be neat if we could play "God". But without smiting Bruce.

So I can see that there are many land-dwelling cephs... How many are there? (Go on Erich, spread your knowledge!) I mean, hey, I'm taking a course on Marine Sciences next year - I should be preapred to bring information on rare/genetically altered/zombie cephs in!

actualy in theory we could make a land octopus, just spice it with frogs like they did in jurasic park, or make it amphibious, like they did in that discovery channel special, or maby we oculd just superglue fish bowls to the octos heads in some kind of scuba device
