I just got this email, unfortunately, they don't realize that all good ceph-heads will be in Sarasota for TONMOCON II, but in case anyone will be in LA instead:
This Saturday, June 23 at 8pm, Theatre Banshee is delighted to present a Special Summer Solstice Screening featuring movies inspired by the works of classic pulp fiction author HP Lovecraft. The lineup includes:
* The Call of Cthulhu - an internationally acclaimed silent film featuring many Theatre Banshee members in its cast.
* Chilean Gothic – a new adaptation of the Lovecraft story Pickman’s Model
* A Shoggoth on the Roof – a mockumentary of the unholy marriage of the Cthulhu Mythos and a Broadway musical
* Making The Call of Cthulhu – the humorous documentary that shows the lunacy of making a modern silent film
* Selected shorts – we’ve got several short films based on Lovecraft stories too
$10 covers your ticket, a drink and all the popcorn you want. There’s ample free safe street parking. If you haven’t seen a movie yet at The Banshee you’re in for a treat. The HP Lovecraft Historical Society will be on hand with weird merchandise for discriminating collectors. Reservations are recommended: call 818.846.5323.
