Jess and I stopped by the aquarium this afternoon and one of the creatures I did not realize they have is the chambered nautilus. Jess was watching the seal show, and I chose to sit by the tank and see if the nautilus would come out of his corner. Well....he came over to the front of the tank and then proceeded to go acrosss the full length of the 55 gal, watching me! Totally fascinating looking creature. It is a shame how many people do not realize he is there because he tends to hang in the back of the tank until he realizes someone is staying there watching him! Unfortunutely, no flashes aloud and my camera does not do well in dimly lit but I was able to enhance one shot.

Also a couple fossils for Phil :) !

That's really neat! I haven't seen the nautiluses at the aquarium in Brooklyn extend any part of their bodies out of the shell. Next time!
