Sourcing Octopus vulgaris in European Union

Hi, I am looking for a commercial source from a European Union country (France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece, Malta, etc) to order one small Octopus vulgaris, to be raised in a 2000 liter octopus-proofed tank for cognitive research purposes. The octopus will have lots of fun with us. Any pointers or information about sources will be highly appreciated. Best regards, Wolfgang

Thank you very much, @Tomh - At this time, we are only looking for O. vulgaris because of the research focus. However, would you ship Bimacs to Europe, and what would be the shipping costs?

Hi Wolfgang, shipping costs are high. They charge the same for one box as 5 boxes! Only way it’s worth it if you place a good size order. We collect a wide variety of temperate species of fish and inverts also if you’re interested? Thanks Tom

Update from me here, I got my O. vulgaris from the coast of Portugal in the 2nd week of October 2023, had around 150g at that time, came via airplane, 600€ in total, from www.flyingsharks.eu
