I may have to read it but the warning about the ending is one of my pet peaves ... still might be a fun read though.

Hmmmm... I just bought a book of his short stories, having enjoyed 'Un Lun Dun' to a certain extent. Gave up on the short stories; found him quite dark and unpleasant after about three of them. But maybe I'll have to give this a go...

Let me know if you do and what you think of it. I want something fun, not dark (or at least not so dark that I start getting paranoid). There is enough world changing stuff going on in the real world right now so adding to that depression is not something I want to do with my leisure reading time.
