Neat find.
Part of the problem with the detail is that the 3D model is pretty low resolution to allow it to interact quickly with a viewer's mouse and not use up too much bandwidth.

That's incredible, even if it is low res 3d shape. All the main info is preserved. If only this were a faster process. It doesn't say how long it takes, does it? Much better than photographic records alone, since those tend to leave out views from underneath or behind, (like the underside of a vertebrate's cranium). Hard to make comparisons then to a fragment from below or behind. I wonder if that's affordable for most university departments.
