Upgrading to a 120 gallon

Wow, That looks great! very professional looking. Stands are always black, wood, or white, I like the red its a nice change, very cool.

OK..here we go. Work on tank began last night. It will be similar to all my other tanks. False wall with built in fuge. This design has worked wonderfully for me.

My inherited tank (Puddles tank), is of a similar design but we drilled on the outside of the built-in sump (false wall has an outside covering to hide it) and added a 35 gallon external. The flow in that tank has been the very best for my limited corals and gorgonians. I don't know that I will ever use the dark hole for anything but it is there if something interesting needs it. Currently is serves no purpose but does hide some of the plumbing.

We have a piece of black plexiglass to cover the side. Still need to drill and plumb the returns.
I spent the day at the vet, my lab has an eye injury. He has a hole in his cornea, could require surgery depending on how deep it is. I need to take him to a specialist. now. Gunner has something in the other eye too, may just be a cyst. So far has cost hundreds, I wonder what the eye specialist is going to charge. Well at least he is comfortable now

I have no idea, noticed him winking at me last night. He had a hard time keeping it open. My kittens and him have no real interactions so to speak of. He is a gentle old soul, going on 11. My son has been doing alot of grinding on his roill cage in the garage but he swears he never let Gunner in. He may have run into a stick or bush. I usually let him out then right back in, he hates to be outside alone. I can just hope he is going to be alright, he is the best dog I've ever had. He is in an elizabethian collar, the poor guy just lays looking at me with sad eyes.

My brother's dog has had to wear one for several months. Every time they take it off, she irritates the almost healed tail but she brings in all kinds of dirt with it. They probably would have looked into one of the more expensive ones if they had known it would be this long but she has the cone and love to dig. Fortunately, they do work well.

Update on Gunner: The eye specialist said that in older dogs these hernia's are usually not caused by injury. Fluid builds up behind the cornia and sometimes the cornia will slough off with blinking or rubbing. He is on several medications, drops, salve adn 2 kinds of pills.(one is for pain) There was a proceedure that could have been done to help it along faster but was not absolutely necessary, besides this visit was $300 ane it would have been another $700. It will take a long time to heal but he is comfortable and seem to be handling it all so well. He confirmed he is his old self today, got into the garbage, made a mess of my kitchen. He is a little bit devil but a great dog.

No more progress on the tank, ordered the pump and sand today. We will be gathering all the pvc for plumbing. Will update soon, graduations parties all weekend.

I just received an email from Premium, my pump is on back order, they are not expecting an order from Rio for a couple weeks. I am going to have to substitute a different pump. I called and texted my brother but he is in AZ, in transit on his way back home. I don't know what brand pump to choose, I use Rios in all my tanks. I hope he calls back soon so I can have it shiped today and in my hands tomorrow. just realized how much I rely on him, I am helpless to make a simple decision like ordering a pump. I am just not familiar with the different brands performances. To make maters worse I have my husbands cold, (virus) horrible sore throat. I am going to push myself to get the pvc today even though I feel pretty aweful :banghead:

Alright I just ordered 2 Rio 1400's that will give me 720 gph. I'll have them tomorrow.
