Any thoughts on this one? Ommastrephidae? Looks a bit like the other Japanese squid, as seen on screenshots elsewhere on this forum.

(Apparently a certain Robert Li, holiday pic 2001...)

If you observe the ice around the squid, you that there is a red "fin" underneath the ice. I'm no expert, but that might either be the fins or the tentacles.

That's a fine frozen squid he's got there. No visible damage to the body....
