Here's the pic thread!

And this little movie clip. I thought I was in picture mode, but was in video. I said, "1, 2, 3" and hit the button, and this is the result.

Below:
- the inimitable WK
- Friday night sushi dinner (before squid dissection) (2)
- group shot done the right way

Here are several pics from Monterey Bay Aquarium. Apologies for the quality of some.

I stood in front of the cuttle tank for a good 20 minutes to a half hour -- feeding time had clearly just happened. (I went there early so there was essentially no traffic -- Father's Day treat!). I witnessed (but did not record) a cuttle stalking a piece of food, and flashing his/her "face" (below the eyes, above the arms) and circling the inanimate piece of food before pouncing on it. It was awesome! Great tank. 42 or 44 cuttles in all (depending on who you talk to), and 4 or 6 months old (again depending on who you talk to).

Well I was too engrossed in things to take many pics until I forced myself to take some at the Steinhart on Sunday.

first, Mark, Rich and Kat at the aquarium. Rich feeding the GPO. An attempt to image the Nautilus. And a pic of the Park... what fog?

So Rich, you work at Steinhart then? I drank too much coffee and had to use the facilities right after Greg's talk, so I missed the beginning of yours, when you probably said that.

You run the Daisy Hill Cuttle farm out of your home though, right?

probably the ONLY picture of the cuttles that didn't come out blurry!

I may have used flash when I wasn't allowed to... in my defence, I didn't see the sign until after I took the picture!

We are happy to be going to MBA!

Seriously, this was the social event of the season!

Yes to both! If you make it to the Aquarium again, let me know in advance and I'll see about showing you around.
