  • Post brood now, Bel is showing the sensence so often seen in the males but sometimes missed when females don't live long after the hatching. Initially she wandered the tank at all times of the day. Now she does sleep some but is loosing contol of her mantle while her arms seem to still be coordinated.

Bel was a delight and I miss her daily (well, nightly). I still catch myself going over an looking in the empty tank  They do need at least a 45 gallon tank though to accomodate their long arms and give them swimming room. Occassionally reefscavengers will list a macropus but the jury is still out on them as a supplier as well as which macropus it is that they get. Also remember that, like the mercs, they are nocturnal. Unlike the mercs, however, interaction was simple to establish.
