Red species deep sea off California approx 2 feet Unidentified

    Hi,

    I am trying to get my footage of cephalopods sorted and came across this one filmed off the San Clemente trench from 600m and caught in a cod end trawl (link below). It's not a Humboldt I don't think.

    Hmm, agree, not likely a humbolt... great find, only 33 views! Would be great to know more about the source of the video.

    Lookes like a Chiroteuthis to me. If it's from near Monterey Bay I would bet it's Chiroteuthis calyx
