Reaching Maturity

Not sure if this has been asked here or not, so here goes:
About how long does it take for a dwarf cuttlefish to reach sexual maturity? And what influences the rate at which this occurs, such as temp, salinity, etc.

Good question and I hope Thales can suggest a general timing. With the octos it seems to be at between 4 and 5 months or at least we see a difference in behavior about this time and males are identifiable. Most octopuses only lay one set of eggs and then die so they will mate for a period of time before brooding but bandensis lay eggs through out much of their lives and may mature earlier.

Ya I would expect that the cuttles would become sexually mature much sooner, because of the fact that they breed and lay eggs several times unlike the single egg laying in octos.
