Keep an eye out for New Scientist this week. There is an article detailing the evidence for cannibalism amongst Architeuthis.

I cannot really see it as being intentional, as in members of the opposite sex deliberately seeking each other to eat each other, because one GS couldn't accommodate much more than a few bites of another in its stomach.

However, the definition of cannibalism does not require intent nor consumption in entirety, so what's happening here could be of quite regular occurence.
