I have been wishing for years that I could get a descent plankton kreisel to attempt raising planktonic octopus paralarvae. Its the whole expense that kills. Making them is pretty hard as well.

me DIY numbskull, fingers all thumbs, permanently tripping over own feet......VERY bad idea!!!!

I once stepped off our front path onto the lawn tripped and broke my leg in several places (requiring 11 pins and a plate to repair) I shudder to think what I could do with a drill, hammer, glue etc!

Yeah Jean, but just remember that it's not about the pain, it's about the economics... the hospital visit could still be cheaper than that commercial tank!

thanks. i never wouldve thought they'd be so expensive for how theyre made. the only thing im still stuck on is the filter system and how the water flow is set up.

Well yes as Hospitals are free in NZ (unless you go private) 6 months off work was a little pricey though!

esquid,

Thanks for the find. I'll return the favor (if you have not already read it) with a rather nice write up on Peter Cushing as I am not a horror film fan and had to look him up:

Thanks, that is a pretty decent entry on him. It doesn't talk about one of his acting trade marks though: massive usage of props. If you want to see what I'm talking about watch "Hound of the Baskervilles" (it's also Christopher Lee's only romantic lead role).

A link would be great, as long as it's on topic (e.g. not to unrelated ads or porn or something.)
