need to culture mysid shrimp

hi I'm getting about twenty clusters of dwarf cuttlefish and we have enriched Artemia with micro algae and syco. i was wondering if anyone knows the difference between mysis shrimp and enriched Artemia. also people that have used Artemia for their cuttlefish and had bad results was your enriched at all or did you simply order it?

Artemia has never worked for cuttles and it has been tried so many times, both enriched and unenriched. I cannot think of a single case where feeding bring shrimp has resulted in living cuttles, though for some reason people continue to want to try it. The cuttles eat it, but fail to thrive.

I have been told by farms that they feed artemia to their mysis to keep them from being canabalistic. I am working on keeping mysis alive for feed using artemia and it is helping.

Artemia is a fine food for mysis, but not a good food for cuttles. Though mysis don't need the artemia to control their appetites, any readily available food will work well.
It is also important to note that newly hatched Artemia, 24-48 hours, are much more nutritious than older Artemia.

When you say newly hatched Artemia 24-48 hours, do you mean 24-48 hours after they have already hatched or since it takes 24-48 hours for them to hatch that they are only nutritious for the first 24 hours of their life, since that is what i was always led to believe.

Feed mysis the brine as soon as they hatch. Then feed the cuttles the mysis when full on brine. I found that Mysis will eat frozen mysis so that makes the live ones even more nutritious. I've witnessed baby cuttles eating copopods also. But for sure the gutted live Mysis is the best way to go.
