When you buy a super cool bubbler and pump with color changing led lights to create movement and think it would be enriching the environment for your ceph... but then do some research on tonmo after the fact... and find out it is NOT the best idea...so now you have to return it...
Going back to a tank with no movement unless the ceph is out dancing...
Unfortunately, bubbles can be deadly if they get up under the mantle. I have used an air stone on a battery operated pump when the power has gone out for CO2-Air exchange but don't use them in the main display any other time.
I suspect you could have used the lights with the bubbler off but I'm not sure how the changing colors would be perceived. It might have been interesting to see if it was ignored, annoying or interesting to the octopus but stressing them is always something to consider.
Misty has been acting weird.
Has a reddish/brown stripes thing going on, really testing the top of the tank, sticking her arms in the over flow slots but not going in.
Not eating the crabs.
Right now she is a bit gray, and she has been a little more gray than usual.
We tested the water, all is well. Doing a water change in a day or two (just had the right axel joint/bar fall out of my car, missed most of today at work ugh).
She ate again today.
Did a bunch of swimming.
She continues to be grey.
Her eyes are a bit odd too... Idk if they're infected, or she is on the decline. Possibly both?
Here is a pic
Water change is still early this week. They didn't call me today.
I haven't seen her go into her conch shell in a week or so, this morning she came out of it and fed by it.
She would sleep wedged around it, but not in it.
