I fear it's only temporary but maybe a first step.
Nobody is fool, we all know that is done with whale meat and it is not for research.

Even a temporary halt is better than nothing, and if Sea Shepherd keeps at it and they make it less than cost effective to continue the hunts, then who knows. I have read that very few people in Japan will actually buy whale meat, that it's mostly eaten by old people who got used to eating it after WWII.
