Picked this new guy up the other day, first ocotopus but long time reef junkie. Acclimated him and he seemed to settle in pretty well. Been feeding well on gutloaded ghost shrimp, even ate in the bag when he was being wrapped up to come home!

About the size of a quarter excluding arms. seems to be active more at night, only color I have noticed has been brown and havent noticed an eye spot or anything. Anyone have a guess? Sorry for the bad pictures hard to get a good shot of him.

Unfortunately, the pictures don't give much of a clue. Do you have any information where it originated? Of the typical Caribbeans, the arms are too short for O. briareus but slightly long for O. mercatoris. The eyes are on close stalks which could be O. vulgaris but might also be O. joubini. I really can't make any qualified guesses from what we have so far. More photos at a much lower ISO would be helpful. The current "film speed" makes the picture too grainy and distorts color as well as making details too hard to distinguish. A tripod and a slower ISO would help if you have the option to set it, however, using a flash is not a good idea.

Having some SLR issues, tried to take better shots with my iPhone. Hope these help!

Roy has a few seconds to look at the pictures and agrees that the eyes are similar to O. bocki (he is quite familiar with the species) but mentions there are several undescribed species that are very similar. We see a lot of octopuses in the trade coming from the Philippines and O. bocki would be native to that region.
