Help setting up my 35g Hex

I just called a pet store, the lady said i will need 2-3 different types of filters? is this true? also she said that it will cost me around 200$, but can someone answer my question and give me a basic list of what i will need to start out with? thanks for all help

Nick has pointed you in the right direction to find out what equipment you need. And the lady in the pet store is right, you will need at least a good filter and a protein skimmer.

You haven't mentioned what you intend to keep in this tank!
