Hello from North Wildwood NJ (3blocks from the sea :)

My very favorite (but I have to admit that Sy Montgomery's runs a close second) is Jacques Cousteau's 1973 Octopus and Squid, The Soft Intelligence. It is still very relevant. The book is out of print but can easily be found used (Amazon). Even the original paperback (white cover) has great color photos and the read is excellent.

If other cephalopod reading interests you, I also highly recommend Peter Ward's In Search of Nautilus. Richard Ellis has written several non-fiction books about the search and study of squid. If learning more about keeping cuttlefishes or octopuses, @Nancy and Colin's, Cephalopods: Octopuses and Cuttlefish for the Home Aquarium (also out of print and harder to find at a reasonable price).
