    One assumes that the researchers are sure they are not taking chuncks out of whales in stead of squid ... It would seem that whales would be just as likely.

    Squids like humbolt or T Danae may be preys , young architeutis or squids of the same range of size maybe ... but big adults archi .. sounds far-fetched to mee too.

    Sperm whales have scars of their fights versus Archi , I cannot find informations about such scars on great white... that could be a good proof if a great white could be observed with this kind of scars.

    But it is true that others shark species (like somniosus or six gilled sharks) are supposed to eat giant squids.
