NOAA May 05 - Brittle star catches a Squid!
[DWhatley]Normally, we see echinoderms (starfish, brittle stars, urchins, sand dollars, cucumbers) coexist with cephalopods, even sharing dens with octopuses so this was a particularly surprising attack. I am curious how the brittle killed the squid as it seemed to have died very rapidly.

Jarvis Island. Depth 360 m. A Brittle star catches a squid and loses his prey to another Brittle star. Amazing!
