They are not widely caught and distributed, as far as we know from research and reports by TONMO.com members. A few LFSs have them from time to time, too.

Maybe this is a species that would adapt well to tank breeding. I did manage to raise one of dbbga's hatchlings to the age of 4 1/2 months by just putting 6 hatchlings in a mature tank, so it can be done - there's plenty of food in such a tank for large-egg hatchlings.
