I'm really interested in purchasing an octpus I have a 120 Gallon tank and it is :?: just ready to put in an octopus. Any ideas on how or which type would be really good to put one in. Also are their any really good online sites to purchase them. I still haven't found a site where it is devoted to selling octopi. Thank you

Before you buy your octi, I'd check the info on setting up a tank on this site! Octis are extremely specialised (your :?: indicates that you're not entirely sure that you're ready!!) For example if your tank has had ANY copper at all then it can't hold an octi (no matter how far back in the dim distant past!!). They need to be escape proofed, you'll need mega quantities of food (before you get your friend) and some serious filtration!!! (octis are messy!!).

Cheers

Empty-ing the tank and scrubbing it out doesn't get rid of the copper then?

No. Especially if there is any silicone present! Copper just gets everywhere!

Yep, Jean is correct...the copper can impregnate the silicone and leach out for years and years...you can remove all of the silicone, and redo it...but it is almost as inexpensive to get a new 55 gallon tank!
