A friend of a friend on my Twitter shot this in New Zealand yesterday. It appears to be a juvenile Architeuthis so recently dead its chromatophores were still firing.

In light of the recent paper on bimac light sensitivity, It would been extra cool if there had been time to experiment with different lighting to see if there was a detectable change.
