I notice that our local (Dallas) chapter of the Marine Aquarium Society has a buy/sell board online, and there were are good opportunities to pick up equipment and live rock cheaply. Some were even giving away things. These local organizations are apparently only in some parts of the US and Canada, such as Cleveland, Chicago, Oklahoma, Utah, Toronto -so check the membership under www.masna.org
