We almost missed our flight home because I just had to stop by the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science. A lot more cephalopods on display than those pictured here, these are the best pics I took. The first few are Triassic ammonoids (from the collection of Jim Jenks) and an obligatory photo of the Seismosaurus mount.

I was going to look up Nauti-guy, but it was a spur of the moment visit and we were in a hurry. Below are some Cretaceous ammonoids and a Nautiloid, a cool Nautiloid holding up a video player, and a couple of model cephalopods. It is a fantastic museum and I hope to spend a lot more time on my next visit.

Are the Triassic ammonoids suspended between the glass and the document like a mobil? The photo looks three dimensional (loving my new monitor)

What day were you there (here). I've been away (preoccupied) for some time, negligent you could say. Not that I've gone anywhere exept for a week in Oct to Ariz on a family matter. I would have loved to have given you a tour of the collections where the real stuff is. Hopefully there'll be another time.

Regards, (the) Nauti-guy

Nauti-guy, I forced the guys to drop by last Friday the 9th (about 3PM, our plane left at 5:wink:), we only stayed long enough to visit the Triassic-Cretaceous rooms. I'll be working up in Cuba, staying in Bernalillo, off and on for the next few months so I'll get with you next time and see if we cant set up a time. I would really like to see some of Dr. Flowers' collection. :biggrin2:
