In a news-item about a fancy mini-submarine, I found this little throw-away line:

Next year, the subs will travel to South Africa in search of giant squid. Reaching sizes of 150 feet, "with suckers the size of dinner plates," no one has ever captured one on camera, but they're known to exist throughout the world's oceans, Nuytten said.
Groans aside, does anyone know anything about this expedition?
