One of the more frustrating things I have tried to photograph is mating in O. mercatoris. Males pounce on females, envelop the them, insert the hectocotylus (which rarely can be seen except as a tangle of arms) and eventually the female pulls free. In this shot you can see the female's eye in the bottom of the field.
