Wunderpus photogenicus photographed in the Lembeh Straight as it begins to emerge from its burrow. It took almost five minutes in failing light for the animal to fully emerge. The excitement of clutching my camera and being spread-eagled in the muck, sucking tiny sips of air from my regulator, hoping that this apparition wouldn't spook and retreat back into its lair will never be forgotten. This was my first encounter with Wunderpus in its world and it will always remain the best.
