This young male Octopus aculeatus from Indonesia spends the middle of the day in a clam shell, but is active in the morning and late afternoon. These are great animals for the aquarium. They quickly adapt to taking frozen shrimp, are not easily provoked into inking, and can live in a 20 gal system with no problem. This is one of the species that has been shown to walk bipedally. O. aculeatus has a rich repertoire of colors and tectures used in camoflague and crypsis.
