This late Jurassic specimen of Plesioteuthis on display at the Teylers Museum in Haarlem in Germany clearly displays the unique tapering gladius of these vampyromorphs and shows a remnant of the ink sac. Along with Mastigophora, Plesioteuthis may have had tentacles whereas most of the other vampyromorphs had eight arms.
