Interpretation of the late Jurassic 'teuthid' Trachyteuthis. This squid-like creature has been interpreted as an ancestor of the cuttlefish but is now believed to be a vampyromorph, a possible ancestor of the modern Vampire Squid. A very unusual feature is the two pairs of fins.
