I wondered about that too when I first read through the description in Norman and thought the same thing when I read they will trying to develop captive bred for food. They are a large egg species but they also get pretty big (10 inch "body"). The arm span for this sized mantle is not too bad though (3') and the write-up suggests a large variation in size. Perhaps the slow growing ones will find the aquarium market viable. The description and location suggest strong similarities with hummelincki.
