They could be found sticking half-out of icebergs like this mystery beast!

Any guesses as to species? I'm hoping it's a mammoth

I'm guessing it is some type of marine mammal since the ribs are so short (they don't curve around toward the ventral side of the animal).

It has a very slight resemblance to the radula of a gigantic ammonoid... but is probably vertebrate -or- just dumb old bones. 8-)

Most likely some poor seal which fell into a crevasse

It's pretty big for a seal though, the bones are suposed to be sticking out 2.4m above the waterline and yet the head is underwater. Maybe a walrus?

The head is gone, often when a marine mammal dies, the head detaches from the rest of the body because it is so heavy. I took the 2.4 meters to mean that 2.4 meters was the length of the part of the skeleton that is sticking out of the ice. Either way, 8 feet or so is a pretty big animal.
