How many black mollies should i use to start cycling my tank. Also, what do i feed the mollies?

depends on the tank but two usually does it and normal fish flake food :D

thanks alot. my tank is a 50gallon. Wont the flake food dirty up the water if it doesnt dissolve?

Just get normal loose flakes (not a block) - I use Ocen Nutrition's Formula One - and put in a little (small pinch) and watch to see whether it's mostly eaten or not. Adjust accordingly.

I'd get about half a dozen for the tank, any left over food will feed teh bacteria in the filter and help the nitrogen cycle get started so as long as you dont over feed by too much it will be okay.

if there is any food left after 2 mins you are feeding too much, feed two or three times a day is better than one big feed :)
