I'm allergic to chocolate so no choc eggs for me :boohoo: but a friend gave me an alternative egg!
Plus I picked up (in the museum shop and exchanged $$ for it!) this ammonite still showing nacre.

I gave one of those to Greg last year. I have an orthoceras bowl that I got for Christmas.

Lovely Orthoceras egg there Jean. If it hatches, please can we have the scoop here? I think the ammonite might well be a Cretaceous Desmoceras from Madagascar as I have one very similar, but please don't take my word for it.
(Allergic to chocolate? That's an appalling crime...)

So today Monty showed me an ammonite, purportedly from Madagascar, that looks a fair bit like the second one...

According to the museum the ammonite is from Madagascar.
I will keep all posted on hatching of the egg, does anyone know the length of the gestation period?

does anyone know the length of the gestation period?
It was probably laid in the Devonian Period, so it will be at about 395 million years.
