If i understand correctly, mercs are warm water octos. How long do they live

I believe around 6 months- 1year. So short :sad:

i'd probably be better off with a bimac then. still not a long lifespan, but the best i can afford.

Problem is Bob, there are very few octis that have a life span much longer than 6 months - 2 years. The exceptions are ones that generally you can't keep at home, such as GPO's (way too big), or polar species (you'd need a MEGAchiller :grin:).
