If you are into scuba diving and have access to a boat that can get you into really deep (5,000+ ft) water you can see some really amazing creatures at night. Just do a shallow dive (<40 feet) not too long after it gets dark in really deep water. I did this off of Hawaii and we saw tons of strange jellies, squids, shrimps and other animals that are usually too deep to see. They come up to the shallows to feed.

PS If you do this off your own boat or a friends be sure to use a tether. It keeps you from drifting away into the blackness.

Sounds like an excellent paper. I figured that these might be related phylogenetically to pogonophorans, but the use of methane instead of sulfide groups may mean a completely different history.
