Cthulhu is a fictional mythical alien/god/being thing that is kinda cephalopod-ish in the horror stories of H.P. Lovecraft. The complete works of H.P. Lovecraft are available here: http://www.dagonbytes.com/thelibrary/lovecraft/ "The Call of Cthulhu" is the particular story that made Cthulhu famous, but it's not my favorite of Lovecraft's stuff. "The Haunter of the Dark" is one of my favorites, and might be a better choice to get a feel for whether you like Lovecraft's style, but I know others have different favorites-- there's a thread of "what's your favorite Lovecraft story" around somewhere. Alternatively, you could read Wikipedia's Cthulhu entry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cthulhu). sorseress Oct 26th, 2006, 08:42pm Fictional !??? Mythical!??? Just wait! It won't be long now. If the Great Pumpkin comes, I'll still put in a good word for you. Linus: Good grief! I said "if"! I meant "when" he comes! Linus: I'm doomed. One little slip like that could cause the Great Pumpkin to pass you by. Brock Fluharty Oct 26th, 2006, 10:19pm Hahahaha! Ghost Nov 16th, 2006, 05:59pm I find this one particularly great because of the "kids first" title underneath... |
