The following article was published today regarding the squid strandings that occured over this past summer on the West Coast, USA.

The article correctly points out that squid play an important role in our oceans' ecosystems. There's big money behind these interests as well, since usch imbalances can have a big impact on the fishing industry.

I am not sure if this question has been answered before, but how does noise effect squid? Does it at all? If so, the noise pollution in the ocean is greatly increasing, and maybe it has something to do with it. So, how does noise pollution effect squid?

Just read that squid sence vibrations with orentations. Would too many vibrations produced by noise disorentate the squid, causing them to wash onto shore? Just curious
