I've had her for less than a month.
She is the first octo.
I think she was wild caught in florida so maybe we will be lucky.
Any suggestions on rearing these?
How can I tell if they are fertile?
Gestation period?
Any comments will be greatly appreciated.
She was and is very beautiful.
thanks..

looks like a small egg species so its probably not a briareus. maybe a vulgaris or jubini? they will be planktonic young not benthic

I am almost sure she is a vulgaris.
Is there any chance or rearing her eggs?
How long do I have before they hatch?
thanks a bunch,
Orlando

If she is a sexually mature vulgaris, she'd have to be quite large, at least several feet armspan... is she that big? I believe vulgaris is a small-egged species, which are notoriously hard to raise babies from, since the hatchlings will be free-swimming for a month or so. There are a number of threads about people who have tried to raise them, but it's known to be difficult even for research facilities.
