Clem Jun 26th, 2003, 10:21pm Silence fell -- and then
young Tom spoke: "If ye've got worms,
don't fret.... drink whiskey!"
Wee young Tom Clancy
Grew up worm-free, wrote books and
Now shoots guns at home
Dammit.

Unless you jest, Clem,
you've got the wrong Clancy clan:
I meant the singers:
Tom, Paddy, Liam,
and their mate, Tommy Makem.
(My age is showing!)
Taningia O'Danae
(who attended several Clancys & Makem concerts back in ancient times)

how much did caesar
pay for the tickets back then
when he took you out? :P
insolence of youth
can still be found in my words
and boy, it feels great! :)

Ten denarii,
but Julius got a discount
for his pic on coins.
After the concert
we went back to his palace
for a royal feast.
I made the salad,
he asked for the recipe.
I complied, of course.
Many years later,
I found it on a menu....
O foul plagiarist!
For Julius Caesar
had stolen my recipe,
and gave it his name.
(Get it? Caesar salad? How about an "E" for effort? Peasants!)

TaningiaDanae Jun 27th, 2003, 04:00pm Wouldn't ya know it,
After months of a "dry spell",
my first real haiku
was about a ceph
and in Esperanto, too!
Behold, it follows:
Gracia polpo,
vi faras en la maro
dancon misteran.
-- TD, 6/25/03
Pronunciation (just in case anyone gives a coprolite :D ):
graht-SEE-ah POHL-poh
vee FAH-rahss ehn lah MAH-roh
DAHN-tsohn meest-EH-rahn
(Actually it is similar in content to my "Deep Mystery" haiku, except about an Octo. Literal translation: "Graceful Octopus, you do a mysterious dance in the sea.")

WhiteKiboko Jun 27th, 2003, 08:49pm TONMO's one-and-only (as far as I know) card-carrying Esperanto Nerd
while you get points for using a fictional  language, i didnt know they issued cards, i thought just green dots....
the flood was not cool
a bit unnecessary
one post would suffice
no worries my dear
you know, no blood - no foul, but
not a bad idea.... :grad:
WhiteKiboko Jul 3rd, 2003, 05:55pm not one new haiku?
i guess ill have to blame that
slimy chilean
TaningiaDanae Jul 3rd, 2003, 09:50pm I'll read that story
while watching HONEYMOONERS:
"Chile con Carney"
:P
Clem Jul 3rd, 2003, 10:00pm not one new haiku?
i guess ill have to blame that
slimy chilean
Why blame Pinochet
Though horrible he is dry
And fond of poems
Wrapped in blubber
Armed with a paddle Saddam
Reaches Chile's shore
Beloved Humpback
Swam shiva for you and now
They think you a squid
WhiteKiboko Jul 3rd, 2003, 10:13pm i see clem now signs
his informative artworks
theyre guggenheim bound :)
am i the only
member who never goes stealth? :periscop:
or just not pop'lar?

Not a paradise
Close, but no cephs to be found
WhiteKiboko Jul 18th, 2003, 09:57pm Such a suave photo
Makes the rest of us look bad
clem does.....and how <sniff>
still, a great welcome
to this sapien with a
cephalopod soul :!:
Clem Jul 18th, 2003, 10:31pm Photos most un-suave
Most blackmail worthy exist
Ben Franklin says, "Grin."
TaningiaDanae Jul 19th, 2003, 01:19am I have no idea
of which photos you all speak --
I see none attached
nor is Oaxaca
anywhere represented
on this cryptic thread.
Which of Clem's artworks --
signed or unsigned, I know not --
do you refer to?
"I am but an egg,"
somehow still out of the loop.
Please explain, someone?
WhiteKiboko Jul 19th, 2003, 03:13am i am not in proper set of mind to put this in haiku... the first clem pictures metnioned were i believe, in the globster/sighting thread.... as for clem looking so suave, take a gander at the meet the staff page.....
TaningiaDanae Jul 19th, 2003, 11:33pm while you get points for using a fictional  language, i didnt know they issued cards, i thought just green dots....
Indeed, Kiboko,
we can be found everywhere,
though you don't know it
Beneath the Green Star
(not dots, as you conjecture)
we rally bravely
speaking our language --
two million speakers worldwide,
though scattered afar
I carry three cards
one for the group in Noo Yawk
one for the US
and one for the world.
We're here, we're green, deal with it --
you ask us, we'll tell:
Esperantistoj,
fieraj kaj kuragxaj --
ni estas cxie!
PS: Seriously.... if anyone here (US or Canada) wants a complimentary copy of Lesson One of ELNA's Free Ten-Lesson Postal Course (snailmail), please PM me -- no obligation, and lots of fun if you decide to take it. Outside US or Canada, PM me for the address to write to for more info.
[WK, this is my last shameless unsolicited Esperanto plug, I promise! ]
WhiteKiboko Aug 3rd, 2003, 12:21am shameless plugs end here,
but how many plugs remain
with a tinge of shame? :)
i really care not,
if it keeps tani happy...
just dont be blatant :)
but i do suggest
the den of the octopus
would be much better
WhiteKiboko Sep 27th, 2003, 12:30pm offering respite,
the land of the tentacles
shoo reality :bonk:
an octo massuse
could sure be handy now....
suction cup magic :octopus:

WhiteKiboko Oct 18th, 2003, 11:14pm it still was a haiku, merely edited..... sorry the (bee-eeep) didnt make it :)
NickA5582 Oct 19th, 2003, 12:01am I will now steal one from DocidusGigas since s/he never put it here:
Architeuthis, a
Very cool cephalopod
And haiku subject.
TaningiaDanae Oct 19th, 2003, 12:31am There's one big problem
with Mesonychoteuthis:
Just six syllables.

WhiteKiboko Jun 21st, 2004, 06:02pm meant to post this a little while ago, but it got lost in the forest of sticky notes on my desk....
