Just thought I'd share this pendant I found in a local bead store, it was labelled "Fossil snail shell" .......it has sutures.........no idea what sort of ammonite..........maybe one of our fossil experts would like to hazard a guess???

Anyway I HAD to have it and have teamed it up with a chain made of amber, picture jasper and fishing swivels!

Nice, Jean - handsome ammonite and interesting silver work. You enhanced with your beadwork and now have a lovely necklace!

Yes very similar, it has an irridescence too, but its much smaller (~5cm in diam)!

Yeah that was a bit of fun! I hada few comments like "you're gonna use what?" but it seems to work!

Good work Jean. The use of amber seems really appropriate.

Sorry, no idea about the ammonite though. Maybe it's one of these polished goniatites that one regularly sees for sale (?).
