Hi all,

I was on vacation in Galveston, Texas earlier this week. Yes, I enjoyed the ocean! Also stopped in at the National Resource Center for Cephalopods (NRCC) to see what cephs they have right now.

Here are some pics of a young Giant Pacific Octopus (GPO) and also a round tank with cuttlefish: S. pharaonis. The cuttle tank has a little window and they look through it. I found this quite fascinating!

The GPO is quite friendly, as you can see. I was happy to hear from Cristal that the staff in the labs play often with the GPOs - two older ones (one with eggs) and the younger one in these pics.

There were a few S. officinalis but many more tanks of pharaonis, which, although larger, is more friendly and can live in warmer water.

I'll post more photos later..
