Fans of Firefly may be interested in this just because Nathan Fillion is in the lead role.

I've finally seen the film, and although the main creature is not a squid-beast, at one point in the film they think it is a squid-beast, and they use cute squid icons to represent its possible location on the map.

If you are into shlock horror then I highly recommend this one. Written and directed by James Gunn, who co-wrote the book "All I Need to Know about Filmmaking I Learned from the Toxic Avenger".

HP Lovecraft fans should also appreciate this film. I certainly did.
