Hello UK fossilfans.

Anyone been down to the recent landslide at Charmouth, Dorset? The papers today say there could be rich pickings, but it's very dangerous and people are being warned away.

Thanks Capn. Do we have any members in that area?

These two boys were lucky to be alive. (http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/tm_objectid=16589186&method=full&siteid=94762&headline=boys--landslide-terror-on-the-dinosaur-beach--name_page.html)

"Taxi to Charmouth!"

I'm not too far away. Bit busy at the moment though.

"Dorset geologist Richard Edmonds said most of the fossils exposed were small shelled creatures. But he added: "It is possible insects, fish and reptiles will turn up." " -(my emphasis)

that came from the report you posted. Implies that small shelled creatures are not good.

Our best fossil area was ruined by the new wallmart superstore. We used to find loads of shark teeth and the occasional trilobite but now it's a parking lot. one of the other good areas is now a bombing range for the local air base
