Ok, try again -- was not configured correctly for Special Contributors or Supporters. It's now fixed.

GPO87, after chatting with you, I've learned that Wednesday nights are no good for you. I've added a weekly chat event to our calendars -- Thursday nights at 9pm ET. Wonder if that works for people?

I think the calendar has them GMT, so they show up as early morning Friday.

Well somehow, despite being logged in as TPOTH, i connected to the chat under the yuggoth username (which isn't mine). We're having some weird stuff with the system... (like auto-login not working either), nothing wrong with the forum, just the way IT works in NZ i s'ppose :wink:
Tried connecting again to the chat a minute ago and this time, everything went fine (logged as TPOTH etc).... *baffled by technology*

Forgive my ignorance, I'm still very new to the site and trying to get acclimated. When I click on the link, it brings me to the swaying reef lounge. But that's it. There's nobody talking or anything. Am I missing something? Or is that what's supposed to be happening?

i think i can awnser that that is because no one is chatting! your not doing nothing wrong thats actually whats supposed to happen so where it says chat now check to see if any names are there that means there people chatting! well there ya go bob!

I want to change the name of the room to "Ceph Chat", and want to change a couple of other things, but I'm done for the day on that part of the site! Two re-installatins of the application is all I care to handle in one day... :roll:

hmm... I have no trouble. Need to know exactly what your experience is in order to troubleshoot. Do you get an error message? Does your browser freeze up? Are you repeatedly asked to login / put into a loop? Does it tell you incorrect username / password? etc...

um... does not have permission to enter the chat. um... is glad to see that you've finally wised up, although he will sorta miss the chat room.

Yep, that's OK -- there was an enhancement to allow automatic login, so long as your cookie was set (i.e., you had logged in before from that PC). But if you didn't show up as cuttlegirl when you went into the room, let me know!

Hey tony, I had that funny warning again, but it still works regardless.

There also seems to be a lag of some kind when people are in the chatroom, my geuss is that if when you leave the chatroom by closing the window and not exiting properly, the persons name stays in the "who's chatting now" box on the main page for ages. Neither of these are really problems, just thought you might be interested!
